ABOUT UNDER THE STARS
Under The Stars is a para-church young adult movement based in Victoria. We acknowledge that we are not a church, or affiliated with one specific denomination or movement but we are a community of like minded christians. We exist to serve the Church, across denominations, by creating intentional spaces where young adults can gather, worship, grow, and be strengthened together.
We are interdenominational in heart and posture. That means we welcome young adults from every Christian tradition, and we partner openly with churches and young adult ministries of different expressions. Our aim is unity without compromise, centred on Jesus, grounded in Scripture, and committed to strengthening the wider Body of Christ.
Under The Stars is not about building our own platform. It is about building the Kingdom and being a resource for Church's to utilize for the growth of their young adult ministries.
John 17:20–21
Under The Stars began from a simple conviction: young adults need spaces that are bigger than one church to connect and build up one another in faith. The Mason Family was central in this vision of impartation from God. We saw a gap. Many young adults love their local church, yet long for broader connection, to worship alongside other believers, to see the wider Body of Christ, and to realise they are not alone in their faith. We also saw new believers and those exploring faith who needed a step before a Church building. The Mason family felt led to open up their home to young adults to gather, eat, share and worship. The themes and ideas changed each time to keep it fresh and more and more Young Adults from around Victoria caught onto this vision and movement. As we grew in attendance on nights it outgrew the Mason Families Property and is now shared around spaces with people who have a similar vision for their land.
What started as a group of friends in a backyard became a movement of collaboration. Churches partnering. Leaders linking arms. Young adults discovering confidence in their faith. Under The Stars became a symbol of something deeper, unity, surrender, and shared mission. Our Vision is big and the harvest is plentiful and God has His hand over this ministry space.
OUR STORY
Ultimately, we exist to connect young adults across churches, inspire and convict them through biblical teaching and worship, and strengthen them to return to their local churches with greater maturity, purpose and faith. We believe the local church is God’s design. Our role is not to replace it, but to support it.
We partner intentionally with churches and young adult ministries, working alongside them rather than independently of them. For new believers or those exploring faith, we actively encourage connection into healthy local churches within their area. We do not gather people to keep them, we gather to grow and connect.
At the centre of everything is our desire to connect with God and deepen that connection, Connect and uplift one another in fellowship, and Connect Young Adults into ongoing discipleship through Church's.
OUR MISSION
CONNECTION
OUR VALUES
FAITH
We are centred on Jesus Christ and grounded in Scripture. Everything we do flows from a biblical conviction that God is present, active, and transforming lives today.
FELLOWSHIP
We believe unity matters. We create spaces where young adults from different churches and backgrounds can connect, build friendships, and see the wider Body of Christ.
WORSHIP
We prioritise praise and presence. Whether loud or quiet, worship is a response to who God is. We pursue authenticity over atmosphere.
SERVANTHOOD
We believe in giving people a go. Leadership is developed by opportunity. We intentionally create pathways for young adults to step up, serve, lead, and grow in confidence.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
For our statement of faith we have chosen to adopt the Nicene creed as below:
We believe in one God, the Father, the almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through Him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit He was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became truly human.
For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried. On the third day He rose again in accordance with the scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son, He is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
GOVERNANCE
& LEADERSHIP
Under The Stars is supported by an Advisory Team and a Management Committee.
Our Advisory Team is an interdenominational committee that provides spiritual oversight, wisdom, prayer and accountability. These are trusted leaders with a variety of Ministry experience and backgrounds who speak into direction, doctrine, and long-term vision.
Our Management Committee oversees operations, safety, compliance, finances, and event logistics. This structure ensures we operate with integrity, transparency, and strong stewardship.
We believe spiritual vision and practical governance must work together.
